Why Your Company Needs Video Marketing in 2015

Now that we’re a few months in to the New Year, it’s time to start thinking about a new social media campaign. The use of video on social networking sites has been rapidly growing over the past few years and has proven to be more engaging than the standard photo or text post.

With so many social networking sites it is hard to decide where to start. Let’s go over how to maximize the use of video on each platform.

Facebook

Last year, Mark Zuckerberg announced that video marketing would be coming to Facebook in 2015.

As it stands now, promoting videos on Facebook is pretty much unheard of. Facebook video marketing will make it easy to have a successful video marketing campaign for brands who are already using video and for those who were skeptical in the past.

Everyone’s favorite 140 characters or less blogging network plans to have a full version of Promoted Video Ads in 2015. The social media giant launched a beta version of Promoted Video Ads late last year.

Twitter has always allowed video links in tweets, but has never allowed for video embedding or promoting. Twitter’s Promoted Video Ads provides complete video analytics from a pay-per-click system.

Pinterest

When you think of Pinterest you probably don’t think of video. While Pinterest is a great place to share images and infographics, it will soon be a great social network to share and promote video.

Currently on Pinterest, you can pin videos hosted on video sharing sites such as YouTube and Vimeo. While this can surely help with your video views and shares, it has the potential to do more. Pinerest offers awesome analytics tools and will soon offer a promoted pins service.

Instagram and Vine

These two micro-video giants are working their way into the video marketing world too.

Instagram announced late 2014 that it would be launching its own Video Ads that would include some basic analytics, which allow demographic targeting.

Vine, the newest to the social media game, is already experimenting in six second video ads and looks to expand in 2015.

How to get the most out of your Video Marketing

  • Keep your video as short as possible.
  • Give your video a touch of emotion. Viewers are more likely to share or engage if you touch their emotions.
  • Try to create videos that invite an open dialogue, this will cause immediate audience engagement.

With all these new options for video marketing, it is a great time to get started on adding video to your social media campaign.
